I am not the GOAT

GOAT – Greatest of All Time
Websites need to have an “About Me” section, and its something I have always delayed or avoided. How do you illustrate that you are great at what you do, without preaching that you are the GOAT. Sometimes I read autobiographical pages that remind me of the person who is wrong in an argument but yelling the answer so loudly that people listen.

If you asked me to my face, “What makes you a practitioner worth seeing?” here is what I would say

10 years of operating as a bike fitter has given me an extraordinary breadth of experience, which helps me with the hard cases.

1400 clients – over 10,000 fits. That means that the clients keep coming back. Thats customer confidence.

Some unfinished study (Clinical Sciences – Osteopathy) has taught me that I do not know it all, but I have learned how to find the answers

Racing bikes for 20 years has given me both sympathy and empathy for cycling-specific issues.

I do not drink the bicycle industries ‘kool-aid’, which doesn’t appeal to everyone but has served me well. (remember magnetic wrist bands, salt tablets etc)

I have invested in the best hardware and tools to be able to do my job, and I know how to use them.

I don’t have all the answers, but I refer to the best people who do, if I need to.

I know I am very good at my job, but I’m not the one who needs to tell you that. Its my experience that taught me that.
